Dogs have always played a big role in my life. In fact, my mom said I learned how to crawl just so I could follow our dog, Suzie, around the house. And I brought home my first dog (from my neighbor's "oops" litter) at just 9 years old!
Every dog that has entered my life has taught me important lessons. One specific puppy is the reason I became a dog trainer. I left a 16-year corporate career and adopted a Cocker Spaniel/Cavalier King Charles mix puppy. She was quite the handful at 9 months old, so I contacted a dog training facility for help. While touring the facility I realized that training was my calling. That little girl and I graduated from that dog training school together in 2008. We teamed up to help Pet Parents like me better control their dogs and enjoyed spreading smiles as a therapy dog team for over 10 years. Yes, dogs can change our lives.
I know your dog is more than a pet, too. He's your BFF. Your family member. Your furry baby. I get it. My dog is, too! And YES you can have a spoiled dog that is also well-behaved. I'll show you how.
I've heard it all, and I experienced the same frustrations before becoming a Certified Professional Dog Trainer in 2008.
Accidents in the house. Destructive chewing. Jumping on guests. Stealing belongings. Dragging you down the street. Non-stop barking at every little noise, or what seems like nothing at all. Slipping out the door and running away. Pestering other pets. Sometimes wondering what you've gotten yourself into. I get it. I really do. I had a dog just like that and she's the reason I'm here now, ready to help you.
