I LOVE helping Pet Parents! This will be obvious as soon as we meet for your dog’s behavior consultation. Animals have always held a very special place in my heart – starting at age nine, when I adopted one of my neighbor’s “oops” puppies. I’ve been a proud Pet Parent ever since, but it wasn’t until 2007 that I decided to actually devote my career to helping other Pet Parents train their dogs. An unexpected corporate layoff in 2007 allowed me the time to adopt and spend time with a new puppy, as well as start my own pet sitting business. I had always wanted to work with animals and love helping humans, so I was thrilled to finally follow my dreams. My excitement with my little bundle of fur, however, turned quickly into frustration. Housebreaking. Jumping on people. Chewing — everything! You name it, my pup did it — even when I was home with her!
I noticed that I wasn’t alone when it came to bad dog behavior. Many of my pet sitting clients were also struggling. So, I became determined to find a solution. I called a professional dog training school called National K-9 in Columbus, OH and drove 3 hours — in February — to tour their facility!
The tour, which typically took about 20 minutes, turned into a 2-hour career awakening. I realized that I wanted to do more than just learn how to change my own dog’s behavior. I wanted to become a Certified Professional Dog Trainer so I could help other Pet Parents, too!
I packed up my puppy & we enrolled in their Master Dog Trainer Program in 2008. We graduated together & have been helping people and their dogs ever since.
I’ve spent the last decade dedicating myself to learning as much as I can about dogs, so that I can pass that knowledge on to my clients and their dogs – helping them to communicate better and develop a deeper bond.
I am certified and endorsed in the use of a variety of dog training tools by internationally recognized hands-on dog trainer schools, and I am constantly learning new techniques through various workshops and seminars taught by the best trainers in the country. Ready to transform your dog’s behavior?
